Little Beakers - Sandy

June 2020 Newsletter

The day we have all been waiting for is finally here….

Little Beakers - Sandy is officially open!!

After months of delayed starts, we cut the ribbon on May 29th. We know that many families have concerns about COVID-19 and have taken steps to implement the recommendations provided by state and federal guidelines including: smaller camp sizes, increased sanitation of high traffic surfaces and appointments for all services through the website to limit the number of people in the lab at a given time. We are currently offering Open Lab and Summer Camps, with plans to include additional services in the near future. Please visit our website for details.

You read that right, Little Beakers - Sandy is offering live and in person summer camps!

Our first summer camp, Stand Back… She’s Gonna Blow - Volcanoes, Reactions and Explosions was a blast. As with all of our camps, students participated in several hands on activities daily, including building their own volcano, a solar oven, air rockets and more.

Future camps include: Little Engineers and STEM, Marine Biology, Chemistry in Food-Food in Chemistry, Mini-Vet, Forensic Science and more. Class sizes are limited, so don’t wait to book your spot.

What could be better than a family trip to the lab to bond over science?

Open Lab is available daily over the summer from 9 am - 6 pm (9 am -10 am is reserved for individuals from COVID-19 high-risk populations). Appointments can be made through the website and are strongly encouraged, though are not required.
